New shop & new blog! =)

Hi! =)

I have some fun and exciting news to share!! I have recently made the decision to create a new Etsy shop. It is something that I have thought about for a while now. If you did a research on-line for Blue Moose Creations, you would not only find my shop, but you will also find another shop with the same name. When I created me etsy shop name, I didn't do a research for any one else on-like with this name. I don't want to take someone else's name, and I also want to be known for my own as well. I want to distinquish my self and be unique. I decided to just use my own name. My new shop name is ChalleneVi Designs and it is located at challenevi.etsy.com. Challene is my first name and Vi (short for Viola) is my middle name. I really hope that I made the right decision. I have had quite a few sales that I am so very proud of and I have a bunch of feedback too. I feel like I am starting all over again, but as I have been doing this, I feel as though I did the right thing. It just feels right.

I hope that I am able to gain the same fans that I have had, as well as some new ones and that my journey on the road to finding my unique path is a fun one! I want to be able to have my jewelry stand out and be something different and stunning and beautiful! Please wish me luck!!

WOW!! I didn't realize how much time has gone by since my last post! Things have been fun and hectic all at the same time. We went on a little road trip this last month and our boy had a great time! Besides being on the road, not much has been going on. It has been nothing but pouring rain and cloudy weather. I also have made a few more pieces of jewelry that is now posted in my shop! =) I always love new items!!

Here I am, giddy like a child, wanting to jump up and down and scream "ohmygodohmygodohmygod!!!!" I have come to realize that I am a hourder of gemstones! OK, not really, because I will eventually let them go to someone who will cherish them as much as I do.

Today, I received my first package of goodies that Prilosec OTC has helped me to obtain. I have made a couple of supply/tool orders using the awards I was given to use towards my passion. The first order I put in was for some semi-precious gemstones to use in my jewelry. As soon as I received it in the mail, I had to open it! I was sitting in the parking lot where my mailbox is located, with my 17 month old baby boy in the back seat, playing away with his baby ipod. He didn't mind waiting, he was content and happy! I opened them up and they just took my breath away!! =) Of course, once we got home, I had to take them out again and look at them in more detail. I am amazed at such beauty and I love how they come from the earth. Natural, organic, and precious. I have several ideas of what I am going to create with these and I can't wait to get started!!

Tonight, I took a few pictures of the stones so you can see what they look like before they are used in my jewelry. The pictures don't do these stones justice, but I hope that you enjoy them as much as I do!! =)

Good Morning! I posted two new pairs of earrings in my shop today! =) They are very colorful and remind me that Spring is coming!

Rock crystal quartz marquise briolette, wire wrapped in sterling silver, with rock crystal quartz rondelles, pink and green tourmaline and rhodolite garnets all adorning the top of these beautiful earrings! Earwires are handmade my me. =)

Purple Amethyst heart briolette gemstones on sterling silver spiral charm that reminds me of a music note. So Pretty!

Late night additions...

It seems I have the same routine, day in and day out! But that is good thing for my sweet baby boy. =) He thrives on routine and I am very thankful for it! We have our good days/weeks and our bad ones as well. For the past week, he has finally been sleeping through the night again. Before that, he was up several times at night for almost a month straight! It can get a bit tiring! It aslso affects my creativity and the time that I put into making my jewelry. Everything comes to a stand still. So, now I am at it again, staying up late, posting new items and creating lovely jewelry that I wish I could keep for myself. =)

Tonight I was able to post three new items. I try to post them in the mornings, but I will be busy tomorrow doing payroll for my husbands company. I made two new necklaces and a pretty and colorful bracelet.

Hi!!

It has been a while since my last post and I have had quite a few things happen! I wasn't able to post anything for about a week, and when that happens, I feel like I am falling behind! But, I have been able to get back on the horse again! I started making some vintage inspired jewelry, which I am happy about! It is more affordable and so cute!! I have also posted some new freshwater pearl jewelry as well. I had been eyeing some freshwater coin pearls at the bead store for a while and I finally bought them about a week ago! So, I have a new necklace and a pair of earrings made out of them!!

New Items!!!

I have added a couple of new items in the last two days.

Here is a new necklace I created! This sweet little thing has a pretty citrine briolette gemstone, delicately wrapped in sterling silver wire, and suspended from a super fine sterling silver chain. I also added some citrine rondelles near the lobster clasp. I also oxidized this. I love how it is a bit rustic looking, so pretty and sweet! Sweet as honey!! =)

I absolutely LOVE this next necklace!! It is made of AA quality Tanzanite gemstones and it looks amazing with the oxidized sterling silver!!!! =) I want one for myself!

The funniest thing just happened! On Valentine's Day, the treasury was about to open, I got the treasury I wanted to present all ready to enter. When the treasury opened, I entered the name, I hit OK, Create, and the system booted me off! Fast forward two days, I am checking out the different treasuries, and what do I see at the bottom? My Treasury! Sitting there BLANK! For 2 days! I couldn't believe it! =) So I hurry and enter all my treasury numbers and now it is up! I am lucky that I still have another 24 hours that others can still see it.

Fireweed Earrings & Trinity Necklace

I have been wanting to make a pair of earrings that remind me of the beautiful Fireweed flowers we have here in Alaska. I bought these pink tourmaline gemstones for a bracelet I was going to make, but I didn't like how small they were for that. So, this is what I came up with! =) They are made with pink tourmaline rondelles and green onyx briolettes. I made them long so that the top would resemble the upward flow of the fireweed flower. I named this necklace Trinity because of the trio of gems. I love how the colors of these stones go with each other. This necklace is made of moonstone, labradorite and blue apatite. The super fine chain is 18 inches long, with an apatite gemstone hanging next to the lobster clasp. OLIVE Bloom and PLUM Wild

YAY!!! =) I made a treasury!! I have had the hardest time with timing on making a treasury lately, but I finally did it! Last night, I got up twice in the middle of the night, trying to time the Treasury West treasury but I barely missed it. Once, I was entering the name I wanted to call my treasury when it suddenly timed out on me and shut me out! I was so close! In the past, I have done a couple of treasuries. However, I wasn't able to make a screen shot of them. Those days are over! Here is my latest treasury...

Sterling Silver Teardrops

I found these lovely sterling silver teardrops that I had to use in my earrings! I ended up making two pairs and they are so sweet!!

New listings in my shop:

These are made of neon blue apatite rondelle gemstones that hang on sterling silver headpins, attached to the pretty sterling silver teardrop charm. These are the first pair of earrings that I have ever used leverback earwires. I love them! These gemstones are a AAA quality stone that I just love!

A brilliant quality pair of sunstone briolettes!! They light up as though there is fire glowing from within!! They are a petite pair of stones that fit perfectly into the silver teardrops. I also tried the leverback earwires on these. What do you think?! =)

I am about to head out the door to my mail box because I have a sweet little package of gemstones and sterling silver waiting for me! I will be working on some more jewelry tonight. Welcome to my new blog! I am new to the whole world of blogging and twittering, but once I play with a bit, it will be as if I really new what I was doing! =)

I have been working so hard on my shop and I think it is finally coming together. I am so excited!! I have had almost 20 sales now and I am slowly adding more inventory too! Things have been a bit slow the last few days but I have faith that it will all work out. I have been trying out different ideas and designs so I don't have the same thing all the time in my shop. I like the variety. My goal for the future is to expand to using vintage glass beads and brass and copper antiqued wire. I really love the look of that it brings! =)

Here are a few things that I have been working on:

Rock crystal quartz wire wrapped and hung from purple amethyst rondelles. I love how these stones look together! I also oxidized these and brushed and polished them. The earwires are handmade by me and I had so much fun shaping them. Hammering them was a blast! =) I have so much I want to do in the future with hammering metal.

These ruby earrings were so much fun to create!! I love how they are elongated on the disc chain. So feminine!! All my jewelry is fun to create and play with! I want every piece I make! If only I could have one of each! ha! I want my customers to love them too!!
